1994
The beginnings of TER
With the founding of TER GmbH for automatic door systems by Messrs. Thiel , Evren , and Rochholz , the story of a company rethinking door drives began. The vision: to develop safe, durable, and reliable door solutions for elevators – made in Germany.
1995
Start of production of the patented ELS® sliding door
Just one year after its founding, TER began manufacturing the patented ELS® sliding door for elevators. At the same time, it began supplying leading railway and municipal utilities with spare parts for door systems—the beginning of many long-term partnerships in the rail industry.
1997
First participation in Interlift in Augsburg
TER is exhibiting for the first time at Interlift, the leading international trade fair for elevator technology. This participation marks the beginning of international visibility and lays the foundation for growing brand awareness.
2000
Certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2000
With certification according to DIN ISO 9001:2000, TER underscores its commitment to the highest quality and precise process standards. The company established a certified quality management system that continues to set the standard for all its processes.
2003
New door drives
TER introduces controlled door drives (GTU) for elevator modernizations.
2003
Acquisition of the folding door division
The folding door division of Kiekert/Knorr-Bremse is being acquired – a strategic step that specifically expands the product portfolio.
2008
Entry into the bus area
With its premiere at the IAA in Hanover, TER successfully entered the bus door market, opening up new markets for the company in public transport.
2012
System supplier and foundation in Turkey
TER develops into a system supplier for bus and tram doors. In the same year, the first international location is established with the founding of TER Ltd. in Bursa, Turkey – a milestone in the company's global presence.
2013
Move and award for 20 years of Interlift
TER is moving to modern facilities in Velbert to strengthen production and development. The company is honored by AFAG for 20 years of successful participation in Interlift – a testament to its continued industry presence and commitment.
2020
System supplier for platform screen doors
The product portfolio is being expanded again: TER becomes an official system supplier for platform screen doors. This strengthens the company's position as a comprehensive provider of door systems for public transport.
2021
Transfer to family hands
The company is fully owned by the Evren family, making TER a true family business, not only technically but also structurally.

Certification according to DIN 6701-A1
TER meets the high requirements of DIN 6701-A1 for adhesive technology in rail vehicle construction.
